Radiotelescope RT-32 in Latvia, near Ventspils RT-32 is the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center's radio telescope, located in Ventspils District Municipality Irbene Ance. It is 32 meters in diameter in all directions steerable parabolic antenna suitable for the centimeter wave band observations. Radio telescope was built in 1960th years of the USSR Ministry of Defense needs. This was the secret object "Zvaigznite" (asterisk) near the Baltic Sea coast. Along with two smaller satellite dishes were made of communication interception, espionage. After the Soviet army left Latvia, the antenna was placed Latvian Academy of Sciences. It was established in the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center, which deals with natural and artificial observations of cosmic radio sources.
