Stone House of Scallop Shells Casa de la Conchas Salamanca Castile Spain. House of Scallop Shells is next to New Salamanca Cathedral and is now a library. Casa de la Conchas was bulit in 1514 by Talavera Maldonado, a knight of the order of Santiango. The knight decorated his house with scallop shells which are associated with Saint James, the patron saint of Spain.
