BURKINA Faso, Ouagadougou : Riot policemen watch the street in Ouagadougou, on September 18, 2015, two days after a military coup on September 16, by General Gilbert Diendere, an aide to ousted president Blaise Compaore and members of Compaore's powerful Presidential Security Regiment (RSP) burst into the cabinet meeting room snatching the country's interim president Michel Kafando and Prime Minister Isaac Zida, and two ministers (Augustin Loada and Rene Bagoro). Compaore was toppled October 2014 and fled into exile in Ivory Coast after a popular uprising triggered by his attempt to extend his 27-year rule.
