Pavia,Italy, 25 october 2015.The basilica of San Michele Maggiore is a masterpiece of Lombard Romanesque style, is located in Pavia, Lombardy.It was built between 1118 and 1130 on the foundations of an earlier basilica where were crowned the Longobards sovereigns. The basilica was home to lavish ceremonies and coronations, among them the coronation of Frederick I Barbarossa, in 1155.
