Description
In 1703, on the occasion of the consecration of the Saint-Louis church, Louis IX, patron saint of the port, also became patron saint of the city. Since then, Sète has paid tribute to him every year, on August 25, except during periods of conflict. From April 22 to 26, 2011, the city of Sète hosted the annual inter-association congress of Esperanto in France.
