nike-hercules was a solid fuel propelled two-stage surface-to-air missile and reached a speed of mach 3.65 and reach targets at 90 miles (140 km), in norway were the missiles deployed by the nike battalion artillery batteries with the following batteries: asker battery, nes battery, trøgstad battery and våler battery, in 1991 was the nike battalion formally closed down, the pictures are shot in march 2013 by norwegian armed forces aircraft collection which is a military aviation museum located at gardermoen, north of oslo, norway.
