The Elisabeth Hospital is located in Kassel's Südstadt district at Weinbergstraße 7..The Elisabeth Hospital,Frankfurter Straße 25,was officially inaugurated by the Hildesheim Vinzentinerinnen on 12 May 1899. Previously,the Elisabeth Monastery (a nurses' home,which was occupied on 1 April 1888) and a chapel (inaugurated on 11 May 1888) were responsible for the social and nursing tasks of the Catholic parish. Today,the Elisabeth Hospital is a standard care hospital with 198 beds.
