A cultural monument of German urban history is the GWG settlement built by the internationally renowned architect Otto Haesler in the 30s in the district of Rothenditmold. The estate is an exemplary example of the efforts to preserve housing stock and to take into account customer wishes and monument protection in equal measure during modernization measures.
