Description
Old Gairo was partially destroyed by a flood in 1951, and in 1963 it was completely abandoned, the new houses were rebuilt a little higher than the half-destroyed village. It 's the most famous ghost town of Sardinia, surely one of the most beautiful and picturesque corners of Ogliastra and the whole island.
