The altonale fun parade is Hamburg's international street art spectacle. The street parade was initiated in 1999 by the Haus Drei district cultural centre, which has been organizing and carrying it out annually ever since. It is the final highlight of Germany's largest district and cultural festival, the altonale. This event, initiated by Literature and Art Weeks, attracts around half a million guests each year and will take place for the ninth time from 1 to 17 June 2007 (10th anniversary 2008: 30.5.-15.6.). The fun parade on the final day lined the streets with around 100,000 spectators.
