Wanda is an aboriginal name meaning sand hills and the original inhabitants were the Gweagal Aborigine Mimosa Rocks in Mimosa Rocks National Park, contains a variety of cliffs, sea caves, lagoons, beaches, estuaries and wetlands.  Aborigine occupation dates from 6000-25000.  It was a meeting ceremonial place for tribes as far as inland NSW.
